XueBing Xie Mr. Hines ELA 11 College English 1/29/15 Rough Draft (4pgs) Title: Sex Education and Birth Control should be enforced to prevent Teenage Pregnancies â€Å"Approximately one million teens get pregnant and give birth every year in the United States. Eighty percent of those births are to unmarried teens (ProQuest Staff)†. Teenage Pregnancy is when a mentally immature female adolescent under the age of nineteen is pregnant. Pregnant Teenagers would have to face many consequences and problems because they are physically and mentally unprepared to have babies. The teenagers’ futures would be limited because they would have to quit high school to care for their babies and it have been proven that the adolescents would mostly be poor when they become adults. They would also be prone to health problems like high blood pressure, premature birth, postpartum depression, STDs, etc. The teenagers would not be the only that would be affected, their babies would also be affected because it might be born premature and there is a high possibility that he or she would have a low birth rate. Most children that were born by teenagers do worse in school than other children born from adults. Teenage Pregnancy should be prevented because it does not have any positive affects to the people in the United States.
